Came to Canada in 1974
Started own business doing advertising and editorial photography in 1979.
Advertising clients include: Mastercard, Goodyear, Apple, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, RBC, CIBC, BMO, TD, Catholic Church,Kraft, Upjohn, Kimberley-Clark, Bayer, Western Union, Sunkist, Imperial Oil, Pepsi, Canadian Club, 7-UP, Proctor & Gamble, Southern Energy, Daimler Chrysler, VW Canada, GM, Molson, Labatts, Heineken, Reebok, Adidas, United Way, Goodwill, ATT, Rogers, Bell, Manulife.
Magazines include: Toronto Life, Weekend, Chatelaine, Esquire, Fast Company ,Saturday Night, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Fast Company, Vogue, The Globe & Mail, Rolling Stone, Time, Newsweek.
Have won numerous awards,including Lifetime Achievement (A&DCC), and 18 for National Magazine Awards in Canada – also a handful in the US.
Published first book of portraits in September of 2007 – “Stand Still – portraits by Nigel Dickson” (Key Porter Books)
Exhibit at The Royal Ontario Museum, titled “Canadian Content – Portraits by Nigel Dickson” from September 2009 to March 2010.
A 54-page portrait series in “Luminato Book – First 5 years”, published by McLellan & Stewart, 2011.
Portrait series in “Dignity in Exile” a book with Eric Weissman, published by Exile Publications, 2012.
Currently part of Lieutenant General’s exhibit of prominent Ontarians at Queen’s Park.
